Fountain pen, rollerball or ballpoint?
A fountain pen writes with liquid ink through a gold nib that adapts to your hand over time, and it is the most personal choice for anyone who writes by hand often. A rollerball also uses liquid ink, so it glides like a fountain pen but needs no nib care, which suits signatures and daily notes. A ballpoint uses thicker oil-based ink that dries instantly and travels well, and a fineliner gives the sharpest line for sketching and precise notes. Most of our Montblanc pens are fountain pens, with ballpoints and rollerballs close behind.
