Skeleton, openworked or open heart?
A fully skeletonized watch cuts away the dial and much of the movement's bridges and plates so the whole mechanism shows. An openworked dial removes part of the dial to frame the movement beneath. An open-heart dial shows only the beating balance wheel through a small window, a quieter way to see the movement. Many skeleton watches also have a sapphire case back, so the movement can be seen from both sides.
