Which Captain Cook should I choose?

The Captain Cook Automatic in steel ($3,300 to $4,200) is the core of the range, on a steel bracelet, with blue, black and green dials the most common. The Bronze version ($4,300) develops its own patina over time. The high-tech ceramic models ($5,100 to $8,900) are lighter, scratch-resistant and darker in tone, the most distinctively Rado option, and the chronographs run $6,100 to $8,900. Eight references are smaller, at about 37 to 39 mm, for slimmer wrists and a more vintage look.

What movement is in the Captain Cook?

Thirty-five of the 36 references are automatic, and one limited edition is hand-wound. Many three-hand models use Rado's Powermatic 80 calibre with about 80 hours of power reserve, so the watch keeps running over a weekend off the wrist. Chronograph and skeleton references use different calibres, and each product page lists the one inside, along with its water resistance and CAD price.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a Rado Captain Cook in Canada?

A Rado Captain Cook costs from $3,300 to $8,900 CAD at La Maison Monaco. Steel automatics run $3,300 to $4,200, the bronze three-hand model is $4,300, and high-tech ceramic models run $5,100 to $8,900. Chronographs start at $6,100. Is the Rado Captain Cook a real dive watch?

Yes. It has a unidirectional rotating bezel for timing a dive and a screw-down crown, and most references we list are rated to 300 m, with some smaller references at 100 m. It is equally at home as an everyday sports watch. Check the water resistance on each product page before you choose.

What size is the Rado Captain Cook?

Most Captain Cook references are 42 to 43 mm, the classic modern diver size, and 28 of the 36 we list are in that range. Eight smaller references, at about 37 to 39 mm, suit slimmer wrists and a more vintage look. A specialist can help you compare two sizes before you choose.

What is Rado high-tech ceramic?

High-tech ceramic is Rado's signature material: a very hard, lightweight ceramic that resists scratches. On the Captain Cook it is used for the case, and often the bracelet, of the ceramic models, which run $5,100 to $8,900 CAD. It is the most distinctive Rado option and wears noticeably lighter than steel.

Captain Cook in steel, bronze or ceramic?

Choose steel for the everyday diver and the lowest price, from $3,300 CAD. Choose bronze, at $4,300 CAD for the three-hand model, if you like a case that develops its own patina. Choose high-tech ceramic if you want a lighter, scratch-resistant watch with a darker look, from $5,100 CAD.

Is La Maison Monaco an authorized Rado dealer?

Yes. La Maison Monaco is an authorized Rado dealer in Canada, with 15 boutiques across Quebec and Ontario. Every Captain Cook is new and covered by the full Rado warranty. Those not in stock in boutique are mostly available to order, and a specialist confirms the delivery date before your order ships.
