What is the Hamilton Ventura?

The Hamilton Ventura is the Hamilton watch with an asymmetrical case, introduced in 1957 and described by Hamilton as the world's first electric watch. The original was designed by the American industrial designer Richard Arbib and ran on a battery-powered movement driven by an electromagnetic coil. Elvis Presley wore a Ventura in the 1961 film Blue Hawaii, Hamilton calls it the Elvis watch, and the Elvis80 models honour him. Hamilton has also featured the Ventura in the Men in Black films since 1997. Today's Ventura comes in quartz and automatic versions.
