La Maison Monaco is an authorized Canadian dealer for women's Swiss watches, led by Longines, Omega, Rado and Tissot, with Hamilton, Oris, TAG Heuer, Frederique Constant and Gucci. About 1,360 watches are priced in CAD from $415 to $140,200, most under 37 mm, in quartz and automatic, with about 250 mother-of-pearl dials. Watches marked In stock are at one of our 15 boutiques in Quebec and Ontario; those marked Available to Order are ordered in from the brand. Flexiti financing is offered on eligible models.
Most of our women's watches are under 37 mm, and about half are under 34 mm for a classic, almost jewellery-like fit. Many women also choose 36 to 39 mm for a more modern, sporty look. A watch that stays within the width of the wrist, with lugs that do not overhang, will sit well. Use the case size filter, and compare two sizes side by side in a boutique if you can.
Quartz or automatic, steel or gold?
Quartz suits a slim, light watch worn now and then and is common in smaller cases; about 630 of our women's watches are quartz and about 720 are automatic. An automatic winds from wrist motion and suits a watch worn often. Stainless steel suits daily wear; steel and gold, gold or a ceramic case adds warmth or colour. Mother-of-pearl dials, about 250 in all, and diamond-set models appear across most price levels.
Which collections should I look at?
Longines has the widest women's range, with the DolceVita, the Mini DolceVita, the Primaluna and La Grande Classique. Omega offers the Constellation and the De Ville, and Rado is known for ceramic cases. Tissot covers lower budgets with Swiss automatics and quartz. Around 20% of the range is under $2,000, 43% between $2,000 and $5,000, and 37% above $5,000.
