Fountain pen, rollerball or ballpoint?

A fountain pen writes in liquid ink through a nib, typically gold on Montblanc, that settles to your hand over time. It is the most personal choice and the largest group here: more than 110 models from about $900. A rollerball gives the same liquid-ink glide with no nib to look after, from about $840. A ballpoint uses oil-based ink that dries instantly and travels well, from $600. A fineliner draws the sharpest line for notes and sketches, from $690.

Meisterstück, StarWalker or a special edition?

The Meisterstück is the classic: black precious resin, the white star on the cap, in sizes from the slim Classique to the LeGrand and the 149. About 120 Meisterstück pens run from $690 to $11,900. The StarWalker is the modern line, with the emblem floating in a transparent dome, from $600 to $1,910. Special editions such as Great Characters, Writers Edition, Muses and Heritage honour people, authors and eras: Great Characters runs from $1,485 to $6,900 and Heritage from $730 to $1,360.

In stock or available to order?

In stock means the pen is in one of our boutiques now. Available to order means Montblanc still sells it and we order it in for you, new and with the same warranty. A pen Montblanc no longer sells shows as out of stock.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Montblanc pen cost in Canada?

Montblanc pens at La Maison Monaco start at $600 CAD for a StarWalker, and Meisterstück pens run from $690 to $11,900 CAD, with a median near $1,630. The highest-priced special and precious-metal editions reach $46,500 CAD. Prices are in Canadian dollars and every pen is new, with the Montblanc warranty.

Which Montblanc pen should I buy first?

A Meisterstück Classique or LeGrand is the usual first Montblanc: a rollerball for daily use, or a fountain pen if you write by hand often. Classique pens start at $730 and LeGrand at $810. If you prefer a modern look and a lower price, the StarWalker starts at $600.

What is the difference between a fountain pen and a rollerball?

A fountain pen writes through a nib that adapts to your hand and needs occasional care; a rollerball writes with a rolling ball and liquid ink, so it glides without a nib. Both use liquid ink. Montblanc fountain pens here start at $910 and rollerballs at $840.

Where can I find Montblanc ink, refills and cartridges?

Montblanc ink bottles, cartridges, rollerball refills and pencil leads are sold in our Montblanc consumables section, from about $15 CAD. Match the refill to your pen type: fountain pens take cartridges or bottled ink, rollerballs and ballpoints take their own refills.

Is a Montblanc pen from La Maison Monaco genuine?

Yes. La Maison Monaco is an authorized Montblanc dealer in Canada, so every pen is new, authentic and covered by the Montblanc warranty. You can see the range at our Montblanc boutique at Royalmount in Montreal, or order online and have it shipped across Canada.
