Pilot's Watch Chronograph 41 The Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 features a 41-millimetre stainless steel case and combines it with a dial and rubber strap in a color called IWC TOP GUN Miramar, which was developed by IWC Schaffhausen in collaboration with PANTONE®. The color’s name is a reference to the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego, the home of the Navy’s TOPGUN program before it was relocated to Naval Air Station Fallon in Nevada. A similar light blue shade can also be found on the t-shirts worn by TOPGUN instructors. The rhodium-plated hands have been filled with Super-LumiNova® to ensure perfect legibility in all lighting conditions. In addition to the chronograph totalizers and the small seconds, the dial also features a day-and-date aperture at 3 o’clock. The subdials are arranged in the IWC-typical vertical layout, which places the stop minutes directly at 12 o’clock to make them ever easier to read. Water resistant to 10 bar, this Pilot’s Watch is powered by the IWC-manufactured 69385 calibre movement. The mechanical chronograph in a classic column-wheel design uses a bidirectional pawl winding system to build up a power reserve of 46 hours in the mainspring. The movement can be observed through the sapphire glass case back. The light blue rubber strap features the IWC-developed EasX-CHANGE® system, allowing the wearer to change the strap without any tools.
